Gear in Z Route: Redemption

Published: 2026-10-27

Gear in Z Route: Redemption has 4 slots, Rifle, Scope, Helmet and Vest, and four rarities, R, SR, SSR and UR. You craft top gear in the Gear Craft Center, which opens at Base 9, and level it with Refined Stone and Oil. Attackers get the Rifle first and the Scope second. Some players call the top UR gear Mythic Gear.

Gear Slots

Each hero wears 4 pieces of gear. The attack slots lift damage, and the defense slots keep the hero standing. The Vest gives a larger DEF bonus than the Helmet and a smaller HP bonus.

Gear Rarities

Gear comes in four rarity codes, shown by color. A higher rarity has a higher level cap and bigger base stats. UR is where long-term squads end up.

RarityColorMax levelUse
RGreenNoneDismantle for materials.
SRBlue15Dismantle for materials, do not enhance it.
SSRPurple30Hold until the main squad has top gear.
URGold40Top rarity, often called Mythic Gear.

Mythic Gear

Names vary between players. The game shows the top rarity as UR in gold, and many players call that gear Mythic Gear or Legendary gear. One guide uses Mythic for the fifth star: a fifth star turns 4-star UR gear into 5-star MR gear. The promotion unlocks only when the UR piece is at level 40, and about ten MR Gear Blueprints cover one promotion step on one piece.

Crafting a UR piece costs 750 Conductive Crystal, leveling it to 40 costs Refined Stone and Oil, and stars come after level 40. The sections below cover each step in that order.

UR Gear Stats

The table lists the base stats of each UR piece at four levels. Flat stats and percent stats are listed separately. The table stops at level 39, because the cost of level 40 is not settled.

At the same level the Vest gives double the Helmet's DEF, 377.6 against 188.8 at level 39, while the Helmet gives more HP, 94,400 against 56,640. The milestone bonuses below come on top of those numbers. Entries marked with an asterisk are listed in only one place.

Gear Craft Center

The Gear Craft Center is the building that crafts gear for your heroes. It opens at Base 9, and its tabs are Craft, Bag, Fusion, Dismantle. Craft makes new pieces, Fusion makes Conductive Crystal and Composite Material from dismantled gear, and Dismantle breaks gear down. Level 20 of the building unlocks gear stars.

Dismantled blue and green gear gives materials, and fusion makes Conductive Crystal and Composite Material. Crafting a UR piece costs 750 Conductive Crystal, so scrapping low rarity drops feeds the top tier. Craft top-tier gear as soon as you can, one guide says. The Base table lists the other buildings that open around Base 9.

Materials and Sources

Gear upgrades use two currencies, Refined Stone and Oil. Refined Stone comes from the Alloy Processing Plant, from Ruins Exploration, from the Oasis Market and from Alliance Ambush rewards. Oil comes from the Oil Extraction Well, and the resources page lists every source. Named materials in the game are Refined Stone, Oil, Conductive Crystal, Composite Material, Heat-Resistant Gold, Epic Gear Blueprint and Legendary Gear Blueprint.

Finished gear drops from seven places: Doomsday Freight, Craft Gear, Zombie Elite Horde, Hunting, Supply Operation, Oasis Market and Custom Weekly Pass. Doomsday Freight ties to the transport trucks, and the Oasis Market sells blueprints and Refined Stone. One list says rounds 5 and 10 of Ruins Exploration give 2,000 and 4,000 Refined Stone.

Upgrade Costs

Each UR level costs Refined Stone and Oil, and the price grows in steps. The table groups levels that cost the same. Level 1 asks for 1,000 Refined Stone and 220,000 Oil, and level 39 asks for 8,500 Refined Stone and 1,200,000 Oil.

UR levelRefined StoneOil

3-42,000220,000
5-82,500330,000
9-123,000440,000

33-367,5001,100,000
37-388,0001,200,000
398,5001,200,000

The price of level 40 is left out, because it is not settled. For comparison, one list shows that an SSR piece costs 32,500 Refined Stone and 1,170,000 Oil from level 0 to 30 in total.

Stars and Blueprints

Stars are the step after level 40. A UR piece must reach level 40 first, and the Gear Craft Center must sit at level 20. A piece can hold up to 5 stars. Stars 1 to 4 use a cheaper blueprint, and the fifth star uses the rarest blueprint. Sources name these blueprints differently, so check the name in your own bag.

Stars lift the base stats a lot. One list shows a 1-star UR rifle with Hero ATK 3,951, Hero DEF 526, ATK 9.3% and Crit Rate 18%, and a 4-star rifle with Hero ATK 8,755 and Crit Rate 27%. Spend the rarest blueprints only on a main squad piece, as one guide advises.

Gear Upgrade Order

Gear goes to the main squad first. For the attackers in the backline, level the Rifle first and the Scope second, because more damage means faster wins. Put the best Helmets and Vests on the two tanks and the best Rifles and Scopes on the three attackers. Guides do not agree on the order for the tanks' defense pieces, so judge from the stat table above and from your battle reports.

Heroes can also hold an exclusive weapon later in a season, which is separate from these four slots. Hero guides on the heroes page cover it, and the power guide shows how gear compares with the other power sources.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the gear slots in Z Route Redemption?

Every hero has 4 gear slots: Rifle, Scope, Helmet and Vest. Rifle and Scope are attack items that add Hero ATK and, on top, crit or damage resistance. Helmet and Vest are defense items that add Hero DEF and Hero HP. Gear comes in four rarities, R, SR, SSR and UR, and UR gear levels up to 40.

How do I craft gear in Z Route Redemption?

Build the Gear Craft Center, which opens at Base 9. Its tabs are Craft, Bag, Fusion and Dismantle. Dismantled blue and green gear gives materials, and fusion turns them into Conductive Crystal and Composite Material. Crafting a UR piece costs 750 Conductive Crystal, so keep scrapping low rarity drops.

What is Mythic Gear in Z Route Redemption?

The game lists the top rarity as UR, shown in gold, and some players call it Mythic Gear. One guide uses the name for the fifth star: a fifth star turns 4-star UR gear into 5-star MR gear. That promotion unlocks only when the UR piece is level 40, and it needs the Gear Craft Center at level 20.

Which gear should I upgrade first?

Start with your main squad. Attackers in the backline get the Rifle first and the Scope second, since more damage means faster wins. Put the best Helmets and Vests on the tanks. One guide levels every main squad piece to 10 before pushing any piece to 20, because the level 10 milestone adds a large bonus.

What do I need to add stars to gear?

A UR piece must reach level 40, and the Gear Craft Center must be at level 20. Stars go up to 5. Stars 1 to 4 use a cheaper blueprint, and the fifth star uses the rarest blueprint. One guide says to spend those rare blueprints only on a main squad piece, never on a spare.
