Alliance Ambush and Special Ops in Z Route: Redemption

Published: 2026-10-27

Alliance Ambush is a zombie fight that an R4 or R5 member starts for the whole alliance. It needs at least 20 members, the battle lasts 30 minutes, and rewards grow with the damage you deal. Special Ops are daily missions that every player sends alone, and a gold UR mission pays the most and scores big in VS.

How Ambush Works

The event runs in a fixed order, and each step has a clear owner. An officer sets it up, every member prepares, and then the alliance fights together.

StepWhat happens
SetupR4 or R5 selects difficulty, server start time, and automatic or manual launch. The alliance needs at least 20 members.
PreparationDonate antidotes for Alliance Contribution and combat-phase stat bonuses. Further donations grant contribution but no further stat bonus.
BattleThe battle phase lasts 30 minutes. Zombies can be attacked only through rallies, and fighting level 1 zombies costs about 1% losses, a rate that rises with the level.
RewardsTotal alliance damage and individual player damage decide the rewards.

The launch can be automatic or manual, and the automatic option is the recommended one because the fight starts as soon as preparation ends. If nobody sets the time before 22:00 server time on the last day of the event period, the event expires. Alliances that rely on one officer should ask a second R4 to check the setting a day early. Rank rules are explained on the alliance page.

Start an Ambush

Only R4 and R5 members see the setup buttons. The route in the game takes about a minute.

  1. Open the Incident tab and choose Alliance Ambush.
  2. Open the summon settings. The challenge window shows the difficulty, for example level 6, and the start time.
  3. Choose a difficulty and a start time. The time uses server time, which can differ from your local clock.
  4. Select automatic launch, then summon.

After the summon, members donate antidotes during the preparation phase. Donations raise Alliance Contribution and give combat stat bonuses. When the bonus reaches its maximum, more antidotes still add contribution but no further stats, so keep the last antidotes for contribution.

Ambush Schedule

On a new server, Alliance Ambush unlocks on server day 4 in the default season. One guide lists the Ambush Upgrade steps that raise the zombie level as the server ages, and they stay on the same day for every opening weekday.

One guide says higher alliance damage unlocks harder challenges. The days of other server milestones are on the servers page.

Rally Tips

Zombies fall only to rallies, so rally handling decides the score. These habits come from the rules above and from guides.

Ambush Rewards

Rewards come in three groups: personal damage tiers, alliance damage tiers and a small payment for every rally. One guide lists these amounts, and the Rewards button in the event window shows them for your difficulty.

Special Ops Center

Special Ops are daily missions. Each one appears as a container with a rarity and a timer in the Special Ops Center, and UR, the gold rarity, is the best. A finished mission pays UR Omni Hero Shards and Special Ops Random Boxes. A Random Box can hold UR Omni Hero Shards, diamonds, SSR decoration chests and gear material chests, with diamonds up to 5,000 in one guide.

One guide says a UR container returns 10 times its level in 5 minute speedups of a type you choose, or the same number of speedup chests. Missions can be helped by allies and robbed by other players, so the Special Ops Center is more social than the other daily tasks. Daily trucks work in a similar way, and you can read about them on the trucks page.

Special Ops Points in VS

Special Ops matter most during VS weeks. On Day 2, starting a UR Special Ops mission scores 144,000 points on an account that has Alliance Competition research, and a UR transport truck scores more. Accounts without that research see lower base values. The full list of daily tasks and their points is on the VS page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start Alliance Ambush?

An R4 or R5 member starts it. Open the Incident tab, choose Alliance Ambush and open the summon settings. Pick a difficulty, set the start time in server time and choose automatic or manual launch, with automatic being the recommended option. The alliance needs at least 20 members, and the time must be set before 22:00 server time on the last day of the event period.

How long does Alliance Ambush last?

The battle phase lasts 30 minutes. Before it comes a preparation phase, where members donate antidotes for Alliance Contribution and combat stat bonuses. Zombies can be attacked only through rallies, and every rally prepares for 3 minutes before it launches. Rewards depend on total alliance damage and on each player's own damage.

What are Special Ops in Z Route Redemption?

Special Ops are daily missions that you send from the Special Ops Center, where they appear as containers with a rarity and a timer. UR, the gold rarity, is the best one. You can help allies with their missions and rob other players' missions. A UR mission also scores 144,000 points on VS Day 2 in the event window.

What rewards does Alliance Ambush give?

Personal rewards grow with your own damage and include 5 minute speedups, diamonds, Refined Stone, Composite Material and SR resource chests. Alliance rewards grow with total damage and give 8 speedup chests, Refined Stone, experience, metal, food and oil to every participant. Starting a rally pays 100 diamonds, and joining one pays 50.

What is the best way to use rallies in Alliance Ambush?

Join a rally opened by an R4 or R5 before you open your own, because it gives a damage bonus to everyone inside. Every rally prepares for 3 minutes on top of the march time to the boss, so a rally that cannot land before the event ends deals nothing. Late in the event, send your own rally.

Do Special Ops count in Alliance Competition?

Yes. On Day 2 of VS, the construction day, starting a UR Special Ops mission scores 144,000 points for an account that has Alliance Competition research. Accounts without it see lower values. Hold your best missions until that day instead of sending them early, and read the task list in the event window first.
