Troops in Z Route: Redemption

Published: 2026-10-27

Troops in Z Route: Redemption come in 10 soldier tiers, T1 to T10, and you train them in the Soldier Training Camp. The Drill Ground sets how many soldiers you can hold, the Hospital heals the wounded, and a higher Base level opens the next tier. T7 needs Base 20, T8 needs Base 24, and T10 needs the last Super Soldiers skill.

Soldier Tiers T1 to T10

Every soldier belongs to one of 10 tiers. A higher tier means a stronger soldier, and higher tiers are one of the largest direct gains in squad strength. The table shows what opens each tier. The last column lists the VS points one guide gives for each soldier you train in that tier, at most.

Confirmed rows match across several guides. Rows marked One source come from a single list, so check them in your own Soldier Training Camp. Camp level N needs Base N, which is why camp levels and Base levels line up for T7 and T8. The Base table shows what each Base level costs.

Soldier Training Camp

The Soldier Training Camp trains new soldiers and promotes the ones you already own. A promotion goes up to the highest tier that camp can reach. The camp has 30 levels, it needs the Engineering Department at level 1 to build, and from level 2 each camp level asks for the same Base level. Upgrading the camp is the main way to open a stronger tier.

If you own more than one camp, one guide says to push a single lead camp toward the next tier first and to bring the others up afterward. Upgrading every camp one level at a time burns the same resources and opens the strong troops later. Keep one camp upgrading whenever you can, since higher tiers add squad strength faster than most buildings.

Squad Troop Count

Each hero has a Command value, and Command sets how many soldiers that hero brings into a squad. It grows with hero level, which is the largest lever, and also with building and survivor bonuses. The Warrior Training Center opens at Base 6, the Assault Training Center at Base 11 and the Tactical Training Center at Base 12. All three sit inside the Special Training Center and raise Command and hero ATK, DEF and HP for their hero type.

One guide says to upgrade the Training Center that matches your main squad type instead of all three at once. Hero levels and squad setups are covered on the heroes page and the squads page.

Drill Ground Capacity

The Drill Ground sets your soldier capacity, shown as Max Soldiers. You cannot train or call soldiers beyond it, so a full Drill Ground stops new training until you free room or raise the cap. From level 2, each Drill Ground level asks for the same Base level. One list shows three Drill Grounds, the first at Base 1 and later copies at Base 15 and Base 20.

Exceeds Drill Ground Capacity

When training stops because the new soldiers would exceed your Drill Ground soldier capacity, you have three fixes. Raise the Drill Ground level. Research Drill Ground Expansion in the Full Development tree, which adds capacity. Or open the Offense Strategy tree for Drill Ground Addition, which raises the building limit, and a second Drill Ground Expansion. The research page shows where these trees sit.

Upgrade Soldiers

Upgrading soldiers means promoting existing troops to the next tier in the Soldier Training Camp. Three things speed it up: the camp level, the Soldier research tree and the training nodes in the other trees. The Soldier tree lifts Soldier Attack, Defense and HP for combat, plus Load for gathering. Barracks Expansion raises the soldier training limit, Accelerated Training raises training speed, and Training Camp Addition raises the barracks building limit.

Alliance Help research levels also cut the time per help tap and add to T6 to T9 training speedups. One guide adds a trick for several camps: train lower-tier troops in one camp and upgrade troops in another, so both stay busy even when the Drill Ground is full. The last step, T10, needs the Super Soldiers skill from the research trees.

Hospital and Healing

The Hospital heals wounded soldiers. It opens at Base 2, and its capacity limits how many wounded it can hold. A full Hospital makes sending squads risky. The Defense Strategy tree holds Hospital Expansion, which adds one more hospital, and guides call it the fourth hospital. You reach it by detouring at 40 percent of Super Soldiers.

Rows marked with an asterisk come from one list only, and the list skips levels 15 to 17 and everything past level 19. For faster healing, one guide heals in batches whose timer lands between about 30 and 50 minutes, presses Ask for Help, and lets a few alliance Help taps finish the batch. It points to Saturday, the raid day, as the best day to use this, since big PvP fights fill the Hospital again and again.

Research also helps: Healing Capacity and Enhanced Healing sit in the Develop and Full Development trees, and Reduced Healing Cost sits in Full Development and Defense Strategy.

Troop Losses

An attack can take away your soldiers but not your hero levels or gear, and a single raid can leave soldier power at zero. One guide lists the PvP losses this way: 20-25% of soldiers die permanently when the attacker has equal power, and 0-5% for the defender.

Four research nodes change how many soldiers you lose: Killing Instinct in Squad 1 changes the enemy death rate, Battlefield Medic lowers your own death rate in PvP, Emergency Care lowers deaths at the Drill Ground when your base is breached, and Lethal Strike in Offense Strategy raises the enemy death rate. The Survivability line of alliance research cuts PvP losses and the number of wounded too. One guide puts a T9 soldier at 1,350 power, so every loss costs real power.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many soldier tiers are there in Z Route Redemption?

There are 10 soldier tiers, T1 to T10. Lower tiers open as the Soldier Training Camp levels up. T7 needs Base 20 and T8 needs Base 24. One guide lists Base 27 for T9, and T10 needs Base 30 plus the last skill of the Super Soldiers research tree.

How do I upgrade soldiers to a higher tier?

Open the Soldier Training Camp. It trains new soldiers and also promotes soldiers you already own, up to the highest tier that camp can reach. Raise the camp level to open the next tier. One guide says to push a single lead camp first, so a strong tier arrives sooner, and to bring the other camps up after it.

What does exceeds Drill Ground soldier capacity mean?

The Drill Ground sets the most soldiers you can hold, and you cannot train or call soldiers past that limit. When your army reaches it, raise the Drill Ground level or research Drill Ground Expansion. A Drill Ground at level 1 holds 2,027 soldiers, and level 22 holds 6,417.

How do I heal soldiers faster?

One guide heals wounded soldiers in batches whose timer lands between about 30 and 50 minutes. You press Ask for Help after each batch, and a handful of alliance Help taps cut the timer to zero. The Hospital also needs room: its capacity limits how many wounded it can hold, and a full Hospital makes sending squads risky.

How do I get T10 soldiers?

You need the last skill in the Super Soldiers research tree to open T10, and guides give Base 30 as the target. Super Soldiers costs Research Data, so it sits near the top of the Research Data order. The research page lists the tree and the order in which to spend.
