Z Route: Redemption Beginner Guide
Z Route: Redemption combines a forward-moving run, where your squad shoots through gates and fights a boss, with a base you build, a hero squad you level and an alliance you join. To play it well from day one, build one main squad, upgrade only the buildings the next Base level asks for, keep every timer busy and join an active alliance early. This guide covers the first 24 hours, the first week and a daily routine.
How to Play
Z Route: Redemption is a mobile zombie-survival game with two layers. The first is the run: you move forward without stopping, pick between gates that hand out buffs, supplies or risks, and clear zombie waves while the squad grows stronger. Each stage ends with an elite enemy or boss. The second layer is the city: the Base, research, heroes and the alliance.
- Move forward continuously.
- Choose between gates that offer buffs, supplies or risks.
- Eliminate the zombie waves.
- Upgrade weapons and squad members.
- Defeat the elite enemy at the end of the stage.
Gate choice follows the stage. Early in a run, take supplies and stat boosts. In the middle, accept calculated combat risks only when the squad is strong. Right before a boss, avoid high-risk gates you do not need. If you keep losing to the same boss, the cause is usually an earlier gate or resource choice.
Four ideas carry most of the early game, and the rest of this guide repeats them in different places.
- Build one strong main squad of five heroes before you start a second one.
- Keep the Base moving, and rush only the buildings its next level requires.
- Spend scarce resources carefully: buy what is hard to farm, not what you can gather.
- Join an active alliance early, because it speeds up construction and research.
Tutorial and First Steps
The game opens with a tutorial. Finish it, claim the rewards it gives out and then work toward Base level 4. Each new Base level opens buildings, and the first five are worth knowing by name, because they decide how your first days go.
| Building | Opens at Base | What it gives you | More |
|---|---|---|---|
| Radar | 3 | Missions that level the Radar up as you complete them. | Open |
| Motel | 3 | Lists your survivors and the jobs they do. | Open |
| Alliance Center | 4 | Lets you join an alliance and ask it for help on timers. | Open |
| Shop | 5 | Swaps currencies for resources. | Open |
| Research Center | 7 | Opens research, which runs in its own queue next to construction. | Open |
Squads open on a separate schedule. Squad 1 is there from Base 1, Squad 2 opens at Base 8 and Squad 3 at Base 20. Squad 4 comes with the Monthly Pass, which is a paid item. You will spend almost all of your first week on Squad 1, so the squads page is the best place to plan its five slots.
First 24 Hours
One guide lays out a first-day routine in six steps. It is a flexible plan, not a speedrun, so adjust it to the time you have.
- Finish the opening tutorial, claim every available reward, reach Base level 4 and open Road to Survival.
- Check the Base prerequisites before committing resources, then start the essential upgrades.
- Clear the campaign stages you can reach and claim their rewards.
- Look at the event panel, login rewards, missions, mailbox and current gift codes before you spend any premium currency.
- Focus Hero EXP and upgrade materials on the main squad.
- Before you log out, claim finished tasks and queue a building, research or training timer.
The gift codes page lists which codes still work, so step four takes a minute. Codes can expire, so enter them exactly as written. When the campaign stops moving, one guide says to improve the main squad first instead of repeating a stage the squad cannot clear. The stages page covers the hard ones.
Road to Survival
Road to Survival is a starter event that opens at Base level 4 and runs for 7 days. Only one guide describes it, so treat the numbers as a snapshot. It lists 75 tasks worth 10 points each, which makes 750 points, and new tasks unlock over the first five days. Tasks do not repeat. The score chests are claimed from your total points, and they pay out Nora shards.
| Chest | Points needed | Nora shards |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50 | 11 |
| 2 | 100 | 14 |
| 3 | 190 | 19 |
| 4 | 380 | 24 |
| 5 | 650 | 32 |
The tasks come in themed tabs. Day 1 asks for logins, Base upgrades and campaign progress, and the later days move through radar missions, arena fights, hero levels, soldier training, alliance help, research, recruiting and power.
| Day | Task types |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | Cumulative Login (1-5 days), Base Upgrade (Lv.3, 6, 10, 14, 17), Challenge (Block No.10, 20, 31, 62, 107) |
| Day 2 | Radar Missions (10-110), Rookie Arena fights (3-20), Hero levels (1 hero at Lv.30 up to 5 heroes at Lv.80) |
| Day 3 | Train Soldiers (50-1,200), Soldier Training Camp (Lv.3-17), Alliance Help (10-300 helps) |
| Day 4 | Research (5-60 times), Fighter level (Lv.5-30), Recruit Hero (10-150 times) |
| Day 5 | Zombie Elite Horde (5-50 kills), Power (100,000 to 2,000,000), Speedups used (100-3,000 minutes) |
The same guide says some tasks also pay out Omni hero shards and gear for the main squad. Day 5 includes a speedup-spending task, so check in the game whether speedups used earlier still count, and keep a few back if they do not. The Nora page shows what the shards buy.
A video walkthrough of the early game is a good companion to the steps above.
First Week Plan
After day one the game turns into a weekly loop. The Base decides how far your heroes can go, because each Base level raises the hero level cap by 5. Upgrade only the buildings the next level lists and leave the rest alone. One guide says resource buildings can stop around level 20, and that one Soldier Training Camp should run ahead of the others. The base page has the full requirement table.
A week-one guide built from one player's own account adds a few habits that cost nothing.
- Attack a zombie only when your march power is close to the recommended power. Dead troops and spent stamina do not come back after a loss.
- Send every free march to the highest resource node you can before you log off.
- Hold universal Omni hero shards for the hero you actually want to build.
- Do not level all Soldier Training Camps equally: let one lead, then match the rest.
- Do every beginner event while it is open.
The same guide names these beginner events: Power Awakening, Mission Readiness, Pioneer Chests, Desperate Survival, Survival Trials, Alliance Ambush, Giant Invader, Road to Survival and City Conquest. Power Awakening opens at Base 5 and pays chests for the power you gain while it runs, so upgrades you plan anyway count toward its chests. The events page keeps the current list.
Whether to recruit heroes at once or save tickets depends on your budget. Both approaches are on the tips page. For ways to grow stronger once the first week is done, see how to increase power.
Daily Routine
A daily routine matters more than long sessions, because buildings, research and training run on timers. One guide's checklist is short enough to finish in a few minutes.
- Keep the construction and research queues running. An idle queue is progress you do not get back.
- Do the daily missions.
- Complete the radar tasks, unless you are saving them for an alliance competition day.
- Spend your stamina instead of hoarding it.
- Claim the free relocator on Saturday.
Other guide pages name a handful of activities worth a daily visit. The notes come from one player's account, so read the numbers as examples.
| Activity | How often | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Arena | every day | Rookie Arena silver medals; Vanguard Arena for the top 200 on the server |
| Mission Readiness | every day | 18 points a day gives 2 UR Omni Hero Shards, plus skill EXP books, food chests and speedups |
| Giant Invader | every day | at least 3 attacks to unlock all rewards |
| Trials | every week | Trial Shop: Lv.3 Fighter Component Chest first |
| Special Ops | every day | help 5 allies; random boxes |
| Transport Truck | every day | use the free refresh; UR trucks during alliance competition |
Online and Offline Play
Z Route: Redemption is available on Google Play and the App Store, and PC players can follow the PC page. It is built around servers, alliances and weekly events, so plan to play online.
Some progress happens while you are away. Squads sent to gather on the world map keep gathering, and building, research and training timers keep running. That makes the last action before a log-off the most valuable one of the session.
Beginner Mistakes
The same slips show up in most first weeks. Each one has a simple fix.
- Leaving events until later. Open the event panel on day one and do each beginner event while it is available.
- Spending speedups with no goal. Keep them for long timers and milestones.
- Trying to clear every stage at once. Push the campaign until you hit a wall, then strengthen the main squad.
- Upgrading too many heroes. Most guides give the EXP to five main heroes and let the bench wait.
- Forgetting to claim rewards from tasks, mail and login screens.
- Trusting old gift codes. Check the status on the codes page first.
- Confusing paid extras with free chests. Read what a pack contains before you buy it, as the VIP page explains.
Spending is the last place beginners go wrong. The game can be played and progressed without paying, and the best purchases are items that are hard to farm, such as UR universal shards, not plain food, metal, oil or generic speedups.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you play Z Route Redemption?
Z Route: Redemption has two halves. In the run, your squad moves forward, picks between gates, fights zombie waves and meets a boss at the end of a stage. Between runs you manage a base, level a hero squad, research upgrades and join an alliance. Start by building one main squad and upgrading only the buildings your next Base level needs.
Does Z Route Redemption have a tutorial?
Yes. The game opens with a tutorial, so finish it and collect every reward it hands out. After the tutorial, your first goal is Base level 4, which opens Road to Survival and the Alliance Center, so you can join an alliance early.
What should I do in the first 24 hours?
Finish the tutorial, claim rewards and reach Base 4. Check the next Base requirements before spending resources, clear the campaign stages you can reach, redeem current gift codes, and put Hero EXP into your main squad only. Before you log out, claim finished tasks and queue a building, research or training timer so nothing sits idle overnight.
Can you play Z Route Redemption offline?
The game is built around servers, alliances and timed events, so plan on playing online. What does run while you are away: squads sent to gather keep gathering, and building, research and training timers keep counting down. That is why you should start a timer before every log-off.
What is the Road to Survival event?
Road to Survival is a starter event that opens at Base 4. One guide describes 75 tasks worth 10 points each, 750 points in total and five score chests. The chests pay 100 Nora shards altogether, which gives Nora a free start on her stars.
What should a beginner upgrade first?
Upgrade the buildings your next Base level asks for, and put hero levels, stars and gear into one main squad of five heroes. Everything else can wait. The Base sets the hero level cap, so a stalled Base stalls every hero, while upgrades that do not unlock the next Base level are safe to delay.
