Radar in Z Route: Redemption
The Radar is a Military building that unlocks at Base 3 and hands you a fresh batch of missions every few hours. Each finished mission pays a reward and pushes the building toward level 10, which needs 1,500 missions in total. The table below shows every level, and the sections after it cover the mission types, the rewards and the Radar days of VS.
How Radar Works
The building opens once your Base reaches level 3. A restock adds new missions every 6 hours, which means about 4 batches a day. One guide says each mission carries a timer of about four hours and that a finished mission can wait until you collect it.
Upgrades work differently from other buildings. One guide says completing missions levels the Radar up, not paying resources. The building also gates the alliance route, because the Alliance Center at Base 4 asks for Radar level 1.
Radar Levels
One guide lists the numbers below. The second column counts all missions you have finished, and the last column is the bonus added to basic resource rewards.
| Radar level | Needed | New per restock | Stored | Shown | Resource bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Base 3 | 6 | 25 | 5 | 0% |
| 2 | 5 | 6 | 25 | 6 | 0% |
| 3 | 30 | 7 | 25 | 6 | 5% |
| 4 | 40 | 8 | 25 | 6 | 5% |
| 5 | 50 | 9 | 25 | 7 | 5% |
| 6 | 60 | 10 | 25 | 7 | 5% |
| 7 | 250 | 10 | 30 | 8 | 10% |
| 8 | 500 | 10 | 35 | 8 | 10% |
| 9 | 1,000 | 11 | 35 | 9 | 10% |
| 10 | 1,500 | 11 | 40 | 9 | 15% |
The climb is gentle at first and steep later. Level 6 asks for 60 missions, and level 7 asks for 250. At level 10 the Radar keeps up to 40 missions in stock, shows 9 at once and adds 11 per restock, so a full day of 4 restocks can bring 44 new missions.
Radar Missions
Mission types vary, but a few rules are worth knowing. At Radar level 6 you can finish Help Allies and Airdrop Recovery missions quickly instead of playing them out. Four missions appear only once per day: Attack Abyssling, Hunt Zombie Elite Horde, Kill Watcher, Rescue Soldiers.
Dig sites show up on the Radar too. One guide says they appear as a yellow excavator icon, count as a shared alliance resource and reward every participant, and that each new participant roughly halves the timer.
Radar Rewards
One guide lists these rewards from the Radar:
- Hero EXP
- Combat Chips
- Fighter Parts (Radar Exploration)
- basic resources (levels add a bonus)
- Radar Pass rewards
The Radar level adds a bonus to the basic resource part. During Season 1 the daily Radar missions and the Radar Exploration quests also pay Uranium Crystals, which you spend on the refinery and on Immune Protein. In Ruins Exploration, the mission that asks for one completed Radar mission gives 4 sapper shovels.
New players meet the Radar early. A tutorial quest asks for 3 missions, and the first-days event asks for between 10 and 110 on its second day. The Survivalist survivor can add +5 to +30 extra chests to the daily missions, depending on stars; see the survivors page. A paid Radar Pass track with Recruit Cards and SSR Hero EXP Chests costs 19.99 USD, and the VIP page compares it with other packs.
Radar in VS
Radar missions score points on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the alliance competition. The first of those days is called Radar Exploration, and one guide lists Fighter Parts, Combat Chips, wingman chests and stamina among its rewards. Check the VS page for the full schedule.
A mission can be finished on any day, but it waits in Radar Storage until you collect it, and the storage cap grows with the Radar level. That lets you collect the backlog on the next scoring day. Resources gathered through Radar quests do not count for gathering points, because only manual gathering scores. One guide adds that gathering squads should leave 6 to 8 hours before reset, so their resources arrive after the Radar phase has started.
Daily Radar Routine
Finish Radar missions every day as they come. Skipping daily missions is a typical beginner mistake, since each one pays Hero EXP and resources. The only good reason to hold missions back is the VS plan above.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Radar do in Z Route Redemption?
The Radar is a Military building that posts missions for your commander. Finishing them pays out rewards such as Hero EXP, Combat Chips and basic resources, and every finished mission moves the Radar toward its next level. It also feeds the Radar days of the VS alliance competition.
When does the Radar unlock and how do I level it?
The Radar opens at Base 3. You level it by completing missions, not by paying resources: level 2 needs 5 finished missions, level 5 needs 50 and level 10 needs 1,500. The Alliance Center at Base 4 also asks for Radar level 1.
What is the max Radar level?
Level 10 is the highest Radar level. At that level the Radar stores up to 40 missions, shows 9 at a time, brings 11 new missions per restock and adds 15 percent to basic resource rewards. Reaching it takes 1,500 finished missions in total.
Should I save Radar missions for VS?
Radar missions score points on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the alliance competition. A mission you finish on another day waits in Radar Storage until you collect it, so you can collect the backlog on the next scoring day. A full storage can stop new missions from fitting, so do not leave it packed.
What rewards do Radar missions give?
Missions can give Hero EXP, Combat Chips and basic resources, and the Radar level adds a bonus to the basic resource part. Fighter Parts come from Radar Exploration, the first VS day. In Season 1 the daily missions also pay Uranium Crystals. The Radar Pass adds a paid reward track on top.
