Vince in Z Route: Redemption

Published: 2026-10-27

Vince is a UR Assault Frontline tank. 4 of 6 popular lists give him S on the tier list. His Glaring Taunt forces up to 4 front-row enemies to attack him and lowers their attack. He is the Assault tank who pulls hits, while Vera is the one who counterattacks.

Vince Skills

Vince has four skills, and none of them is built for damage. The taunt does the main work, a passive keeps him alive, and his machine gun fills the gaps. For the general rules of levels and stars, read the heroes page.

SkillTypeUnlocks atEffectStar upgrades
Heavy Machine Gun Auto attack Always on Fires a machine gun at enemies for Physical damage between taunts. Bonus damage grows with every star.
Glaring Taunt Active battle skill Hero level 5 Flashes a blinding light. Front-row enemies must attack Vince and lose attack for 8 seconds. It starts with 2 targets and deals no damage. Taunts 3 enemies at 2 stars and 4 at 4 stars. The extra attack cut is 2% at 1 star, 4% at 3 stars and 6% at 5 stars.
Mountain Ranger Passive, personal Hero level 21 Lowers the damage Vince takes. Adds 3% per star, up to 15% at 5 stars.
Doomsday Judgment Specialty skill, personal Hero level 31 and 4 stars Raises ATK, DEF and HP by 20% and cooldown speed by 10%. None, the effect is the same at every star.

The star column for the taunt matters more than the damage numbers. Each even star adds one more enemy to the pull, so the same skill covers more of the enemy front row as Vince grows.

Skill Priority

The taunt is the reason to field Vince, so the order is short.

  1. Glaring Taunt. It decides how many enemies he holds and how much their attack drops, so it gets the first skill books.
  2. Mountain Ranger. It lowers the damage he takes, which keeps him alive through the cycle of hits he draws.
  3. Doomsday Judgment. It opens at hero level 31 and 4 stars, so it follows the star upgrades.
  4. Heavy Machine Gun. Its damage is filler, and the other three skills do more for the squad.

At the start the taunt grabs only 2 of the 5 enemies. The rest can still shoot elsewhere, and more targets come only with stars. One guide advises at least 4 stars before Vince does his real job.

Faction and Matchups

Vince is an Assault hero. Assault beats Tactical and loses to Warrior in the faction circle, and a hero takes 20% less damage from the faction he counters. An Assault squad with Vince in front is therefore a strong answer to Bekka and other Tactical lineups.

He is also the only Assault tank with a taunt. Squad building usually pairs him with Vera, whose counterattacks punish the enemies he pulls in.

Stats and Gear

Fully leveled (hero level 150, 5 stars, nothing equipped), Vince has 14,444 ATK, 351 command and 1,192,032 power. One guide lists his HP at 880,307 and DEF at 3,546 and ranks his HP fifth among 15 UR heroes. That is a little under Bekka's 992,082 and Arnold's 933,798.

Gear him like a tank. Helmet and Vest come first, and the Scope follows. The gear bonus stays on Vince and does not buff the squad, so levels spent on his gear make him sturdier but change nothing for his allies. See the gear page for the slots.

How to Get Vince

The sources do not agree on one route. The Tavern can recruit him. One English guide describes him as a Hero Pass unit and says to skip him if you are not buying the pass. Other guides list special sale offers and in-game events as well. Open the shop, the pass and the events in your game to see which route is live for you, because offers rotate.

Best Team for Vince

The full build gives an all-Assault faction bonus of 20%: Vince and Vera up front, and Nicole, Victor, Yana behind them. It does best against Tactical squads and suffers against Warriors.

PartnerWhy it works
Vera The other Assault tank. Vince taunts, Vera counterattacks, and the two complement each other side by side.
Yana A back-row Assault damage dealer that stays alive because Vince holds the front.
Victor A back-row finisher. Raise him together with Vince and Yana for the Assault core.
Bekka A second-squad front. Vince cuts the damage he draws and Bekka covers Radiation, so both damage types are handled.

If Arnold has not dropped yet, Vince beside Bekka makes a solid front row for the second squad.

Is Vince Worth It?

Yes, for an Assault squad. He is rated S in 4 of 6 lists and the other 2 rate him one and two steps lower, which fits a hero whose value depends on the squad around him. One guide rates him very good for PvP and arena and strong for the campaign. If you play Warriors or Tactical, spend your shards elsewhere first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Vince good in Z Route Redemption?

Yes, for the front row of an Assault squad. Vince is rated S in 4 of 6 popular tier lists, although two lists place him lower. His taunt pulls up to 4 front-row enemies and cuts their attack. He deals little damage, and the guides say not to build your first squad around him.

How do I get Vince?

The Tavern can recruit him, one English guide ties him to the Hero Pass and says to skip him if you are not buying the pass, and other guides list sale offers and events. Check the shop, the pass and the events in your game to see which route is open for you now.

Which Vince skill should I level first?

Glaring Taunt goes first, because the whole hero is built around it. Mountain Ranger is second, so Vince survives the cycle of hits he draws. The later pick is Doomsday Judgment, which needs level 31 and 4 stars. His Heavy Machine Gun is last, since it only fills the time between taunts.

How many enemies does Glaring Taunt pull?

It starts at 2 front-row enemies, rises to 3 at 2 stars and reaches 4 at 4 stars. The taunt lasts 8 seconds and also cuts the ATK of the enemies it grabs, with an extra 6% cut at 5 stars. Enemies that were not taunted keep shooting at other targets. One guide advises at least 4 stars.

Who is the best partner for Vince?

Vera is the other Assault tank. Vince taunts and Vera counterattacks, so the two often stand side by side. Behind them, Yana and Victor deal the damage, with Nicole beside them. Until you have Arnold, Bekka is a good partner for a second squad, because she covers Radiation while Vince cuts the damage he draws.

What faction is Vince?

Vince is an Assault hero. In the faction circle Assault beats Tactical and loses to Warrior, and a hero takes 20% less damage from the faction he counters. That makes Vince strong against Tactical squads and a poor pick against Warrior ones, so look at the enemy lineup before you send an Assault squad.
