PvP in Z Route: Redemption
PvP in Z Route: Redemption means fighting other commanders in the Arena, on bases, in rallies, in sieges and in alliance battles. Battles are decided by squad power, base levels and the faction triangle, and a shield keeps your base safe between fights. This page covers Glory Arena, 3v3 Arena, shields, pillage gain, faction counters and soldier losses.
PvP Modes
Every mode pits you against other players, whose power and behavior are hard to predict. Guides group them by difficulty, and the table lists the main ones with the page that explains each.
| Mode | What it is |
|---|---|
| Glory Arena | One strong squad against one strong squad, ranked ladder |
| 3v3 Arena | Three squads against three, cross-server bracket |
| Base and tile attacks | Attacks on a base or a resource tile of a player on your server |
| Truck pillage | Raids on transport trucks, see the trucks page |
| City siege | Alliance sieges of cities, see the map page |
| Capitol | Server fight for the Capitol, see the Capitol page |
| Battlefield Pandora | Alliance versus alliance battle, see the Pandora page |
| Saturday raid | Day 6 of the VS event |
Glory Arena
One strongest squad against the other player’s strongest squad. Supplied automatically at the highest rank available in at least one barracks. Successful attacks swap positions; successful defense preserves positions. The number of challenges is limited, so pick your targets.
Before a fight the Arena lets you choose which squad's research bonus package to bring, T1 for Squad 1 up to T4 for Squad 4. That makes the research of your main squad count twice, in the field and in the Arena, and it is the reason to finish it first. The research page shows the trees.
One guide suggests a daily habit: open the Arena building, visit both leaderboards and like the top three players on each. Community reports put the reward at roughly 30 diamonds per like, about 180 diamonds a day for six likes.
3v3 Arena
The 3v3 Arena tab sits next to Glory Arena. You prepare up to 3 squads, and each fight in a match uses a different one. One guide says the player who wins 2 or more fights takes the match, so one strong squad and two weak ones lose. The bracket is cross-server: several servers share one ranking, with a countdown to the end of the season.
The Defense setting holds the three line-ups other players attack, the Log shows recent fights, and Revenge lets you hit back at someone who beat you. Check your defense line-ups after any hero change, because they fight while you are offline. The squads page has line-ups for each squad slot.
Base Attacks
Three ratios decide how hard a fight is. The first is the combat power of the enemy squad against yours. The second is the base level gap, because a higher base level raises the hero level cap and opens higher soldier ranks. The third is the power gap between the two players, which reflects research, decor and other bonuses.
Bases can be attacked by single squads or by rallies. Alliance rallies cannot be joined across alliances, and the September 2 update added radial quick menus for the player who starts a rally and for everyone who joins it. The waypoint trick helps against bases on the world map: march toward a resource tile near the target first, then redirect late, so the enemy sees a gathering march.
Before a Saturday raid, one guide says to spend resources, heal troops and pick a target about 20% weaker than you. Saturday is Day 6 of VS, the Enemy Assault day.
Soldier Losses
One guide says an attacker facing an equal squad loses 20% to 25% of soldiers for good, and a defender loses 0% to 5%. City, Capitol and Battery garrisons are not counted in the defender figure.
Heal in batches. One guide advises healing only enough wounded soldiers that the timer lands between 30 and 50 minutes, then asking the alliance for Help. Every Help tap cuts a share of the remaining time, so a short timer drops to zero after a few taps. This matters most on Saturday, when large battles fill the hospital repeatedly.
Base Shield
A shield blocks attacks on your base. Shields come in 8, 12, 24 hour versions, and the base page shows where to get them. In the Dark Zone around the Capitol, shields cannot be raised at all, as the map page explains.
You lose your shield by doing any of these:
- Attack the Capitol, a Battery, or any base
- Join a rally against these targets
- Send a scout drone against these targets
Battle Frenzy then starts and blocks any new shield for 15 minutes. Reinforcing an ally in your own alliance keeps your shield, and so does scouting veins in Mad Vein.
Pillage Gain
Attacks on a transport truck use Glory Arena rules. One guide says a single truck can be pillaged 2 times and each commander can make 4 successful pillages a day. The result window can list chance bonuses such as +50% extra cargo on a successful pillage. That figure comes from one account and is not the base chance.
The risk of being pillaged depends on the value of the cargo. The trucks page explains loads, limits and the Convoy research.
Faction Counters
The three factions form a triangle, and the winner of each pair takes 20% less damage from the other side.
| Faction | Beats |
|---|---|
| Warrior | Assault |
| Assault | Tactical |
| Tactical | Warrior |
A squad of one faction also gets a bonus that grows with the number of matching heroes.
| Squad | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 3 heroes of one faction | 5% |
| 3 of one faction plus 2 of another | 10% |
| 4 heroes of one faction | 15% |
| 5 heroes of one faction | 20% |
The squad screen in the game shows which stats the bonus raises. Pick heroes by faction on the heroes page, and see the squads page for finished line-ups.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Glory Arena in Z Route Redemption?
Glory Arena is the standard Arena format, where your strongest squad fights the strongest squad of another player. Soldiers are supplied automatically at the highest rank you have in at least one barracks. A successful attack swaps your ranking position with the defender, and a successful defense keeps both players where they were.
How does 3v3 Arena work?
You bring 3 squads, and each fight in the match uses a different one. One guide says the player who wins 2 or more fights wins the match. The bracket is cross-server, so several servers share one ranking. Build Squad 2 and Squad 3 as well, because a weak squad hands your opponent a free win.
How does the base shield work?
A shield blocks enemy attacks on your base, and it comes in 8, 12, 24 hour versions. You lose it when you attack the Capitol, a Battery or any base, join a rally against them or send a scout drone at them. Battle Frenzy follows and stops any new shield for 15 minutes. Reinforcing an ally in your alliance keeps your shield.
What is pillage gain?
Pillage gain is the extra cargo you may win when you raid another player's transport truck. Truck attacks follow Glory Arena rules. One guide says a truck can be pillaged 2 times, and each commander can make 4 successful pillages a day. The result window can list chance bonuses on top.
Which faction beats which in Z Route Redemption?
The counters form a triangle: Warrior counters Assault, Assault counters Tactical, and Tactical counters Warrior. The countering faction takes 20% less damage from the other faction. Squads of one faction also earn a bonus of 5% to 20%, so line-ups of a single faction are common.
How many soldiers do I lose in PvP?
One guide says an attacker facing an equal squad loses 20% to 25% of soldiers for good, while a defender loses 0% to 5%. City, Capitol and Battery garrisons are excluded. Many soldiers go to the hospital as wounded, so hospital space and healing speed matter.
