Season 1 in Z Route: Redemption
Season 1 is called S1: Radiated Land. It adds a loop of uranium, immune protein and virus resistance, two commander classes, a fight for strongholds on infected land and a Virus Boss Invasion. Season buildings and resources are temporary. This page explains the mechanics, the shops, the rewards and the milestone days.
Season Production Loop
The season runs on one chain with 5 links. Uranium crystals upgrade the Protein Refinery, the Refinery makes immune protein, and immune protein upgrades the Virus Lab, which raises your virus resistance. Resistance sets how well your squads handle infected zombies and the guards at the strongholds. The radar page explains the Radar missions that one guide says give crystals once a day.
The season also adds two classes: Engineer and War Leader. Class levels come from killing zombies, capturing cities and upgrading season buildings, and one guide says a leveled class covers a small gap in resistance. The research page covers the Resistance Research tree that supports the loop.
Radiated Land Mechanics
Radiated Land is the contested part of the season. Alliances capture strongholds and cities on the infected map, and one guide lists these rules:
- To declare war, your alliance must own a stronghold next to the target.
- Each captured city at levels 1 to 5 raises the stronghold limit by 1.
- Allied recon heals an infected commander, so infection pushes allies to work together.
- Temporary buildings are removed when the season ends.
- The Gamma Terminator skin adds 50 virus stacks to the maximum.
One guide says that on an infected tile the squad loses its shield and can turn only in the white zone. That makes repeated attacks harder, so plan one strong attack instead of many small ones. The world map page shows the zones around the strongholds.
Virus Boss Invasion
Virus Boss Invasion opens at Base level 10. Rewards depend on the damage you deal, and a defeated boss spawns chests on the map. One guide says that higher resistance helps you deal more damage, so the Virus Lab and Resistance Research matter for this fight too. Use your strongest squads, and look at the squads page for team builds.
The Giant Invader from the weekly events cycle works in a similar way, and one guide says that hunting it with all three squads gives infection charges fast.
Infection and Resistance
Commanders can get infected while they fight in the radiated zone. An infected commander loses damage and attack until allies send recon to heal. Resistance is the stat that keeps this under control. One guide says that a commander can also infect enemies: at 100 percent infection the commander bursts and leaves charges on nearby enemies.
- Turn off ally healing before you fly out to infect, or allies will shoot the infection down.
- Start the infection at 98 or 99 percent, so you have time to choose the target.
- Infect in groups of 2 or 3 and burst right after landing, so enemies have less time to react.
Season Shops
Two shops matter in Season 1. The Mutant Shop opens at Base level 15, sells goods for mutant fragments and refreshes each new week. The season shop uses the season currency. Its stock lists Eye of Judgment, Golden Hand Statue, Devourer of Worlds avatar frame, MR Gear Blueprint. See the Oasis Market page for what to buy first.
Season Rewards
Alliances receive titles and decorations when the season ends, and the level depends on the season result of the alliance. Only R4 and R5 members can allocate these rewards, and the allocation is final. Event rewards are not added to the bag on their own, so claim them by hand. Join an active alliance early, since the territory fight is where most of the season score comes from.
Season Milestones
The season has fixed days when new content opens. One guide gives the following timeline, counted from the first day of the season.
| Season day | Week | What opens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | Radiated Land / Season Boost / Zombie Siege |
| 18 | 3 | Leah's Exclusive Weapon |
| 39 | 6 | Yana's Exclusive Weapon |
| 57 | 9 | Black Market |
| 58 | 9 | Champion Showdown |
The list ends with the Champion Showdown on day 58, in week 9. Read the pages of Leah and Yana before day 18 and day 39, so you know whether their exclusive weapons suit your squad.
Season 1 Tips
- One guide says to upgrade the uranium factories evenly, one level at a time, to get more immune protein per collection.
- Level the Virus Lab through the radar, using police stations or hospital nightmares once a day.
- Level the exclusive weapon to 6 first, which unlocks the maximum starting skill level.
- Do a daily checklist: radar hospital nightmares and police stations, then hit 2 or 3 large observers.
- Buy the weekly season pass only for the first 2 weeks, since base upgrades reach level 30 by then.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Season 1 in Z Route Redemption?
Season 1 is called S1: Radiated Land, the first season of the game. It adds a production loop of uranium crystal, protein refinery, immune protein, a Virus Lab that raises your resistance, Engineer and War Leader classes and a fight for strongholds on infected land. Season buildings and resources are temporary, and they are removed when the season ends.
What is Radiated Land?
Radiated Land is the Season 1 territory fight. Alliances capture strongholds, and one guide says a stronghold must touch land the alliance already holds before you can declare war. Each captured city at levels 1 to 5 adds 1 to the stronghold limit. Commanders on this land can become infected, which hurts their attack until allies help.
What is Virus Boss Invasion?
Virus Boss Invasion is a boss event of the season that opens at Base level 10. Your rewards depend on the damage you deal, and each defeated boss spawns reward chests on the map. One guide says higher virus resistance, which you get from Resistance Research and the Virus Lab, helps you deal more damage to these bosses.
What rewards does Season 1 give?
Alliances receive titles and decorations at the end of the season, and only R4 and R5 members can hand them out. The allocation cannot be changed afterwards. Players also spend Mutant fragments in the weekly Mutant Shop, and the season currency buys goods such as Devourer of Worlds avatar frame and MR Gear Blueprint.
Should I buy the Season 1 weekly pass?
One guide says to buy the weekly season pass only for the first two weeks, because season buildings reach level 30 in that time. Another point from the same guide is that upgrading uranium factories evenly, one level at a time, gives more immune protein per collection. Check the price in the shop before you buy, and finish the daily tasks either way.
