Monroe in Z Route: Redemption
Monroe is a UR Warrior Backline sniper, rated S in 6 of 7 popular tier lists on the tier list page. Her tank calls in 16 rockets at 4 stars, which makes her the main damage dealer of a Warrior squad. She is also the first UR hero many players get, so early accounts often grow around her.
Monroe Skills
Monroe has four skills: an auto attack, an active battle skill, a personal passive and the fourth skill that every UR hero gets. All of her damage is Radiation damage. The heroes page explains how skill levels and stars work for every hero, so this table lists only what is specific to Monroe.
| Skill | Type | Unlocks at | Effect | Star upgrades |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tactical Sniper Rifle | Auto attack | Hero level 1 | Shoots enemies with a sniper rifle every 1.65 seconds. | Bonus damage grows with every star. |
| Strong Reinforcement | Active battle skill | Hero level 5 | Calls in a tank that fires rockets at random enemies: 8 rockets at 0 stars, 12 at 2 stars and 16 at 4 stars. | Bonus damage of 30% at 1 star, 75% at 3 stars and 120% at 5 stars. |
| Scout | Passive, personal | Hero level 21 | Raises Monroe's own Radiation damage in combat. | 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, 15% at stars 1 to 5. |
| Doomsday Judgment | Specialty skill, personal | Hero level 31 and 4 stars | Raises ATK, DEF and HP by 20% and cooldown speed by 10%. | None, the effect is the same at every star. |
The rocket count is the number to watch. Each step from 0 to 2 to 4 stars adds four rockets to one cast, so a 4 star Monroe lands twice as many hits per volley as a fresh one. The tank only delivers the rockets and does not add HP to Monroe.
Doomsday Judgment
Every UR hero unlocks Doomsday Judgment at hero level 31 and 4 stars. For Monroe it works as a flat personal boost: ATK, DEF and HP rise by 20%, and her skills recharge 10% faster. A shorter cooldown means the rocket volley can come around sooner in a fight. The heroes page shows the same skill on the other UR heroes, where the stat bonus is identical.
Skill Priority
Team skills come first in the general order, then the main damage skill. Monroe has no team skill, so her main damage skill goes first.
- Strong Reinforcement. This is her burst, and it grows from 8 to 16 rockets with stars. Spend your first skill books here.
- Tactical Sniper Rifle. The rifle fires every 1.65 seconds and fills the time between rocket volleys.
- Scout. It adds at most 15% Radiation damage from stars and works only for Monroe, so it gains the least for the squad.
- Doomsday Judgment. It comes last because it needs 4 stars and level 31 before it works at all.
Stars decide how high skills can go. Each star step raises the skill level cap, as the table shows.
| Hero stars | Skill level cap |
|---|---|
| 0 to 1 | 1 |
| 2 | 5 |
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 20 |
| 5 | 30 |
Three stars is a realistic goal without heavy spending, 4 stars is the priority, and 5 stars is the long-term target. With gold shards, bring Monroe to 4 stars first and move to Arnold after her.
Exclusive Weapon
Monroe is one of three heroes with an exclusive weapon, next to Leah and Yana. The weapon is tied to the 5 star milestone, so it is a late goal and not a reason to rush a fresh account.
Its first skill gives Monroe a stack of volley amplification each time her auto attack lands a critical hit, up to the number of Warriors in the squad. Each stack adds one extra rocket to her volley. Higher weapon levels add a boost to HP, ATK and DEF of allied Warriors, and a heavy rocket that hits three enemies in an area once she holds four stacks. Because the stack count follows the Warrior count, the weapon reaches full power in a squad of five Warriors.
How to Get Monroe
Monroe comes through a special first-purchase promotion, which is why she is the first UR hero on many accounts. Heroes in general are recruited in the Tavern or bought in special in-game events. If you want gold shards for other UR heroes after her, the gift codes page lists free rewards that help the early game.
Stats and Gear
At hero level 150 with 5 stars and no gear, Monroe has 405,419 HP, 351 command and 1,073,238 power. Her ATK is around 25,300 and her DEF around 3,080. Arnold has 933,798 HP at the same level, which shows why she belongs in the back row.
Gear her like an attacker. Level the Rifle first and max it, because it adds more damage than the Scope at the same level, and then upgrade the Scope.
Best Team for Monroe
The strongest setup is a squad of five UR Warriors with a 20% faction bonus. Put Arnold and Dirk in front and Monroe in the back center slot, which is the most protected backline spot. Lucian and Carter stand on the sides.
| Partner | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Arnold | The best Warrior tank next to the best Warrior damage dealer. This pair is the base of campaign, garrison and arena squads. |
| Lucian | Stacks Radiation damage with Monroe on the Warrior backline. The pair suits arena offense and bosses. |
| Carter | Raises the ATK of the whole squad and speeds up cooldowns, which makes more rocket volleys. |
| Dirk | A second Warrior tank next to Arnold, which keeps the front row alive. |
A mixed squad also works: Arnold, Monroe and Carter with Bekka and Silas give a smaller faction bonus than the full 20% of five Warriors. The squad guide compares more formations.
Monroe vs Lucian and Leah
Monroe, Lucian and Leah are UR Backline damage dealers that all deal Radiation damage, so the choice comes down to faction and damage style.
| Hero | Faction | Tier | HP at level 150 | Power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monroe | Warrior | S, 6 of 7 lists | 405,419 | 1,073,238 |
| Lucian | Warrior | S, 6 of 6 lists | about 378,673 | 1,074,027 |
| Leah | Tactical | S, 6 of 7 lists | 445,641 | 1,073,121 |
Lucian has the higher base attack, while Monroe spreads her damage over several enemies with the rocket volley. The two stack Radiation damage in one Warrior squad, so you do not have to pick between them. Leah is a Tactical sniper, so she fits a Tactical squad and not a Warrior one. Choose by the faction you build, and use the tier list to compare all three with other heroes.
Is Monroe Worth It?
Yes, if you build Warriors. She sits at S tier with 6 of 7 lists agreeing, and one list rates her a step lower. Her limits are clear: low HP for a UR hero and Radiation damage that Bekka reduces. Behind a tank like Arnold she is the best first damage dealer on most accounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Monroe good in Z Route Redemption?
Yes. Monroe is rated S in 6 of 7 popular tier lists, and only one list places her a step lower. She is a Backline sniper with one of the highest attack values among UR heroes, and her tank fires up to 16 rockets at 4 stars. Her weak point is HP, so she needs a tank such as Arnold in front of her.
How do I get Monroe?
Monroe is offered as a special first-purchase promotion, which is why she is the first UR hero on many accounts. Heroes in general are recruited in the Tavern or bought in special in-game events. Check the current promotions inside the game, because offers change, and read the heroes page to see how shards and stars turn a new hero into a real squad member.
Which Monroe skill should I level first?
Level Strong Reinforcement first. It is her burst skill, and she has no team skill that should come before it. Tactical Sniper Rifle comes second, Scout third and Doomsday Judgment last. Raise her stars at the same time, because skill levels are capped by stars: level 20 at 4 stars and level 30 at 5 stars.
What does the Monroe exclusive weapon do?
It adds a volley amplification stack each time her auto attack lands a critical hit, up to the number of Warriors in the squad. Each stack makes her fire one more rocket. Higher weapon levels boost HP, ATK and DEF of allied Warriors and add a heavy area rocket. It works best in a squad of five Warriors.
Who is the best partner for Monroe?
Arnold is the best partner. He is the top Warrior tank and keeps Monroe alive in the back center slot, where she deals the most damage. Lucian stacks Radiation damage with her on the Warrior backline, and Dirk adds a second tank in front. Carter raises the ATK of the whole squad, so the five of them make the full Warrior squad.
How many stars does Monroe need?
Four stars is the target. At 4 stars Strong Reinforcement fires 16 rockets, Doomsday Judgment unlocks at hero level 31 and her skill level cap rises to 20. Five stars raise the cap to 30 and tie in the exclusive weapon, which makes sense only after the rest of your Warrior squad is built.
